Trumpet Advice Please!!!?
I've been playing the trumpet for about 5 years now and have had problems with high notes and endurance. I'm not sure what I'm doing but I can only play well for about a half an hour then it gets fuzzy and I can't reach anything. The highest note I can play is the f on the top line of the staff. Would it be that I'm pinching too much and if I am how do you tell if you are pinching or putting too much force on the mouthpiece? I've been trying to buzz on my mouthpiece to songs and even recieved a 'berp' buzzing attachment for my trumpet. Please help!!!
It's more about your lips, if you squeeze them to hard, all you'll get is a bad note.
Try to relax while playing but not too relaxed.
And as for your lips being feeling fuzzy awhile, try this exercise.
It looks funny but it lets the blood flow back in give more feeling back to your lips.
