What trumpet mouthpiece should I upgrade to? (Please Help...)?
I recently bought a new trumpet, and it came with a Bach 1B Megatone mouthpiece. I love it, and it suits me extremely well.
However, I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend borrow it through the marching season, (while I was up on the podium conducting.. woot!) and she doesn't want to give it back... because she fell in love with it.
Her only problem is that on any of her mouthpieces, she has trouble playing high and loud for long periods of time, even on the 1B.
Her birthday is coming up, so I decided to get her a mouthpiece.. I need advice on what mouthpieces you would recommend to help her range, endurance, and confidence level. (She owns a 14A4A, 7C, and my 1B)
I'm looking to stay in the <$65.00 range.

Finding a mouthpiece to help isn't so difficult. Getting your mouthpiece back could prove to be problematic. Suerte!
A player with thinner lips will tend to do best with a mouthpiece that provides some cushion. Your brief feedback regarding the other mouthpieces indicates that this is probably what is needed. The 14a4a has a comfortable rim, but it is a fairly large diameter mouthpiece. If the player has larger teeth, or a larger jaw/bone structure, it's a possibility.
A Yamaha YAC7B4 or YAC8C4 are good all-around mouthpieces. The YAC11B4 is one that will help more with range. A Schilke 10B4 or 12B4 are likely to help more with range, as well, without the thinner sound of the "a4a" models.
If, on the other hand, she has thicker lips, a Schilke 9 or 11 would be a good choice.
